Subjects Taught
English 11

I received a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education/English and Economics in 1988 from the University of Alabama.  Later, I received a Master's Degree in Secondary Education/Language Arts from Alabama State University in 2004.  Since that time, I have taken additional English classes at the University of West Alabama for professional development purposes.

I have twenty-three years of teaching experience in Georgia and Alabama.  My career began in 1988 with five years at Newnan High School in Coweta County, Georgia, where I taught language and reading remediation as well as basic, general, and advanced levels of English 9.  After marriage, I returned to Alabama in 1993 and have taught at Central High School for the last eighteen years.  During that time I have taught English 9, English 10, English 11, Algebra I, Study Skills, Contemporary Issues, Reading, Economics, and E2020. I currently teach English 11 and E2020, and I also serve as a Beta Club sponsor.

I am married to Kelvin Boulware, who is an educator in Chilton County. I have two sons, Russell and Perry, and a makeshift daughter (Suzy the Chihuahua) who "runs" the house.  During my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family.  In the twenty years my husband and I have been married, we have enjoyed a cruise and several long driving trips around the country.  One of my favorite trips we took before we had children was one to Chicago to drop in on an old friend and to catch a baseball game at Wrigley Field. Since we have had children, we have driven as a family to Los Angeles and to Canada, stopping along the way at places like the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls.  In the past two years, we have also enjoyed camping in a travel trailer that we keep at the beach in the summer.
